mindful touch
Longing to touch and be touched in a new way? Practice these 6 steps to Mindful Touch.
- Notice your partner. Are they receptive to touch? If in doubt, check.
- Move your attention from the thoughts & fantasies in your mind to the sensations in your body, especially your hands. Become aware of temperature, pressure, pulsing etc
- Get curious about what happens when you make contact. Does your partner’s body soften and open, or stiffen and retract? What happens to the sensation in your own body?
- Go only as fast as you can stay connected to your body’s sensation and the responsiveness of your partner. You might go slower than you ever imagined - and feel more electricity in the slowness than you ever thought possible.
- If the sensation drops off, slow down instead of speeding up. Rather than pushing for more, align with the ebb and flow - a natural rhythm.
- Stop before you or your partner get full. Instead of overdoing it, leave room for wanting more. A little hunger can be a beautiful thing.
